Digital art isn’t REAL art. Real art uses a variety of traditional, actual art mediums like paint, charcoal, watercolor, pastels, ink, etc., and requires actual skill. At least, that’s what many think.

Digital art is NOT easy, and that’s because art isn’t easy. Sure, natural talent helps, but afterward it relies heavily on learned skills. While there are technical “shortcuts” in digital art, those usually only help cut down the time, and not the complicated process that is creating a work of art. Regardless, digital art requires a large amount of time and effort. Yes, it uses a digitalized set of tools, but that doesn’t, and shouldn’t, make it automatically inferior to traditional art.
-
The equipment doesn’t make the art. As with traditional art tools, digital art equipment is only another medium, even if it does have a heftier price tag attached. A digital artist still has to be able to wield the tools. If anything, digital equipment requires more knowledge and experience to use. Anyone can pick up a pencil and draw, but not everyone knows how to utilize technology to create art.
-
When most people think of digital art, they likely visualize standard drawings or sketches on art programs, or maybe even heavily photoshopped images. In reality, digital art encompasses a wide variety of possibilities – more so than with traditional art. Digital art doesn’t always mean it is created using technology from start to finish. If you can think it, you can also probably use digital art to create it.

To Recap…
With the increased use of technology, pretty much everything has been digitalized to be available at your fingertips, and art is certainly no exception. Although it may seem untraditional, digital art is well on its way to becoming the art medium of both the future and digital age, unlocking countless possibilities for the creative world that are limited only by one’s own imagination.
