Ariana Grande uses the Sistine Chapel by on the print of her dress, which is an inspiration for her look to the 2018 Met Gala. The bow on her head is inspired by the white clouds in the painting, and the beige petticoat underneath accentuates the colors in the painting. This painting was selected to follow the theme of “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination.”

At the 2019 Met Gala, Harry Styles was inspired by the painting “Portrait of Henry III of France in Polish hat.” This is shown through his similar pearl earring worn on his right ear, and the similarities in his shirt. The collar of his shirt is a similar frilly style, and the black of his shirt is directly inspired by the color of the man in the painting.

At the 2018 Met Gala, Gigi Hadid embodied the theme “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination,” through wearing a dress designed by Versace. Her flower-shaped dress, inspired by Louis Comfort Tiffany’s stained glass design, displays cool, glittery colors with lovely subtle undertones. The elegance in Comfort Tiffany’s design is embraced through Hadid’s dress, as it is complements her matching earrings and sleeve on one arm.

During the 2003 Met Gala, Selma Blair wears a dress inspired by the painting _ to embody the theme, “Goddess: The Classical Mode.” Her ballerina outfit parallels to the gold and white hues in the painting, but the dress isn’t the only aspect of the look which takes inspiration from the painting: her hair mirrors the hair of the ballerina’s, as well as the almost-identical shoes.
