Mary Hawranko’s (12th) phone case reads, “REMINDER: You’ve survived 100% of your bad days <3 God’s got you! This simple message is more functional than it is aesthetic, providing the viewer with a sort of contentment through its uplifting words. Even for any sort of non-Christian, its idea is still appreciated—knowing that you’ve gotten as far as you have and whatever lies ahead of you will come to pass as well. Unless it doesn’t. Tomorrow is not guaranteed, guys.

Amelia Huang’s (10th) current phone case is a wonderful mosaic of sea-coloured beads. White, turquoise, blue, seagreen, green, and the occasional pink adorn the back of her case, looking like a sort of beautiful tidepool. And unlike many other case designs, this one’s interest is on the outside rather than inside. Reminds me of Kathleen Ryan’s bad fruit sculpture series, incredible sculptures of beads and precious stones depicting…rotten fruit. Or it reminds me of the Lego Movie. Something about a large amount of colourful little pixels or pieces altogether. The colours also match her base phone with its seagreen. I wonder how comfortable it’d be to hold around, though, especially for someone like Amelia who always has nice nails on.

Ava Chapagain (12th) says her Rilukkuma sticker came from Texas, a cute and kawaii icon for her new school year. The prominent photocard featuring Yeojin from LOONA came from the local K-Pop store for a grand 50 cents. The bunny sticker, an icon of Heejin, is a holdover from a previous photocard featuring that member. The pink stickers accent the pink in the photo.

Hannah Kwon (11th) says her phone case design is the way it is because she thought it was cute. I agree. The Xerneas Pokemon card held within is there because she likes Xerneas, which is fair enough.

Olivia Chang (12th) refused to divulge the meaning behind one of the wrappers in her case, but she did say that the fish was from a chopstick wrapper, which I think is quite nice.
